The East Coast Drive team kisses... and tells

First kiss stories are not always the most pleasant to share, but it is the awkwardness which makes them entertaining for everyone else.

Most of us can’t help but laugh and shake our heads at the thought of our first kisses.

The daunting challenge we faced when the big moment presented itself and we had to put on the performance of our lives.

On Wednesday, Nomuzi Mabhena shared her first kiss story, and KZN listeners were left stunned by where the kiss took place.

The Drive team thought it is only right that they too got in on the action.

Mags

First up we have our leading lady, Mags: ‘’My first kiss was at the roof top of Pinetown Centre where there once was a skate-park. Romantic right!? I think I was about 12 years old and I had braces. I leaned in to seal the deal and before I knew it, I had bumped his lips with my braces and they were bleeding’’.

Everyone knows that there is nothing romantic about busted lips. Shame, poor Mags.

Rory

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did for our producer Rory: "I was 13 years old and at one of those under-18 discos and had my eye on the most beautiful girl there, named Liesl. I was young. I was goofy. I had no idea what I was doing. Liesl was completely out of my league. I didn’t even think she knew I existed, and then, all of a sudden, out of nowhere, when I walked past her, she grabbed me and kissed me. She said, 'Thanks for that. My boyfriend really needed to see it!' And she walked off. I think I stood there for about 45 minutes. Frozen".

Girls can be really cruel sometimes.

G-Dawg

Here's a fun fact for you, G-Dawg was once in the KZN Youth choir.

His story goes a little something like this: "I was about 15 and there were a lot of girls in the choir, truth be told I had my eyes on a few of them. I had been casually chatting to one of the girls on Mxit and we had arranged a get together at one of my friend's house. We pitched tents outside my friend's house and had a huge bonfire outside their back yard.  Late into the night, we snuggled up next to each other and well, let's just say it was one sloppy mess".

So we saved the best for last. Bongani recalls: "I spend the whole night practicing with the mirror after watching The Bold and the Beautiful. Only to make a whole mess out of the whole thing at the rank. Well to my defense, I can blame the sloppiness on the pressure felt as there was a taxi filled with passengers".
