The Sharks ended a five-year trophy drought on Saturday, beating Western Province 17-12 in the Currie Cup final in Cape Town.

The victory made amends for their loss to Western Province in last year’s Currie Cup final in Durban.

The final was a nail-biting affair, with the Sharks having three tries ruled out. They managed to hold off the hosts to claim a memorable win at Newlands.

East Coast Breakfast interviewed Sharks skipper Chiliboy Ralepelle with the trophy on Monday morning, while East Coast Drive welcomed Springbok and Sharks fullback Curwin Bosch to the studio to chat about his experience of the final.

Mags and G-Dog spoke to Bosch about taking revenge after last year’s loss, playing alongside youngsters like Aphelele Fassi as well as his old schoolmate Jeremy Ward and the Sharks prospects in next year’s Super Rugby competition.

Although we didn't get a chance to see the actual Currie Cup, our Executive Producer Rory Petzer decided to hilariously find one for us.
