We all know the feeling. Those last few days before payday seem like an absolute eternity.

If you find yourself counting your pennies at the end of the month like most of us, I have five tips to help you save money - and the good thing is that they are so easy to do.

Check them out here:

1. You can save on your electricity by filling your kettle and only boiling it once in the morning. This notion that water must be boiled again every time you need a cup of tea is nonsense.

2. Tell your neighbour your car is missing and you need transport to and from work for the rest of the month. Make sure you are already waiting at their gate, ready for work in the morning, when you ask. This will make it very awkward for them to refuse.

3. Supermarkets and bakeries do their best to rip you off. Each slice of bread can be sliced at least three more times, making each loaf go at least three times further. If your knife is really sharp, it is possible to make a loaf go five times further. The slices will also toast much quicker, saving you electricity, too.

4. When making two-minute noodles, do not throw the water away. Simply drain the noodles and save the water for tea and coffee. It has already been boiled once and will also add a unique flavour to your preferred hot drink.

5. If you have any spare time over the weekend, simply loiter wherever you see more than three cars parked together. There is a very good chance the people will assume you were protecting their vehicles and give you a R2 coin when they return.

Hugs.
