Retired man owes lottery win to 'lucky' can of soup

A retired man named Neal Damato from Suffolk County, New York is thanking his lucky soup for helping him win a scratch card lottery worth over $5-million (R70-million).

According to Newsday, it all started when he and his wife went out for an ordinary burger lunch and while waiting for his wife in the car, he made the wise decision to go to a local store and purchase a can of soup for dinner, as he was so full after lunch.
He then took a chance by purchasing two scratch tickets and couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw that he had won.
He is so grateful to his lucky can of soup that he actually wants to be buried with it!
Was the can of soup the reason for his win or was it just pure luck? Either way, this man isn't giving his lucky can up for anyone or anything.
