Moulana Mohammed Taariq is focused on community upliftment

Today's Frontline Hero is Moulana, a priest in Phoenix who is going the extra mile for the community.

East Coast Drive is on a mission to recognise our frontline heroes in KZN, those people who are considered an essential service, risking infection of themselves and their family members in order to keep the country running.

Moulana Mohammed Taariq from Lenham in Phoenix is said to go beyond the call of duty. He has set up a local feeding scheme, distributes free masks, gloves, soaps and hand sanitizers. He also has a counselling programme.

He is an ambassador for the South African Police Services in the area, he operates through his organization the Phoenix Crisis Centre.
His
help extends to all people irrespective of race, colour, religion or creed. He
works together with his wife Faiema Amod, his hard working son Tauqeer and his group of dedicated volunteers. On top of that, he also makes meals
for 400 underprivileged people daily.
