Mother lets snake bite her child to 'teach a lesson' about reptile handling

Surely there are other ways to teach a child a lesson? Insane!
On Tuesday, we were chatting about parents and teaching kids lessons, and our very own Mags shared how her mother taught her a lesson during her childhood. Now this? Insane!

A mother from Florida has come under fire after a video of her 'teaching' her baby 'a lesson' went viral. The mother thought that it would be a good idea to let a red rat snake intentionally bite her one-year-old baby to teach her a valuable lesson about how to handle reptiles.

Although the snake did not injure the baby because it was too small to leave any visible marks, in the video you can hear the baby crying each time the snake comes towards her.
The mother has told ABC News that she grew up handling reptiles and wanted to impart a valuable lesson on her daughter.
