Silent treatment has to be the most painful part of any relationship. If you've ever been given the silent treatment before, you would know that it hurts more than the actual fight and can become very awkward for couples.

The article also reported that a Professor of Psychology has said that the act of excluding your partner or ignoring them could lead to more damage in the relationship.

Bongani was at a braai this past weekend and witnessed a couple who weren't talking to each other. The 'treatment' had been going on for four days and could go on for as much as two weeks after the fight.

"My wife and I normally don't do the whole 'let's ignore each other' thing. We normally fight and wrap things up," says Bongani.
