G-Dog relocates to JHB
Updated | By East Coast Drive
Gareth Jenkinson AKA G-Dog will leave a massive gap at East Coast Radio, and KwaZulu-Natal in general, when he relocates to Johannesburg.

G-Dog is well known and loved across KZN for his trademark ‘Get in’, his super infectious laugh and his ability to mediate when things got out of hand!
“My journey with East Coast Radio started back in 2013, when our former Sports Editor Andre Bloem trained me up and started me on Weekend Sport.
I did one shift every few weeks and I remember being super nervous! I continued to fill on weekends for nearly two years, until I joined the station full time as the Weekend Sports Anchor in 2015.
Almost a year later I moved onto East Coast Drive when Phat Joe joined East Coast Radio. That was a crazy year of radio and I learned a lot from the man. From 2017 I worked alongside Bongani and Mags and I can honestly say that those were my three favourite years on radio! We laughed, we cried and became great friends. We did so many epic things and I will always look back fondly on those times.
My career highlight at East Coast Radio will forever be my coverage of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. My ‘Rugby World Cup updates with G-Dog’ were awarded with a South Africa Radio Award for the Best Sports Show in the country. I dedicate the award to Hollywoodbets for sponsoring my journey and making it all possible
My wife and I will be moving to Johannesburg in July to pursue various career opportunities. I am very grateful to both East Coast Radio and Jacaranda for allowing me to continue my passion for radio,” said G-Dog.
Don’t panic though, as you’ll still hear G-Dog’s voice as he presents weekend sport on East Coast Radio.
Starting out as a weekend sports presenter at East Coast Radio, G-Dog’s enthusiasm and talent saw him soon become an integral part of East Coast Drive, where he didn’t just do the sport, but was also a vital cog in the on-air team.
