Shocking footage has emerged of an eThekwini metro police officer performing stunts in an official vehicle.
eThekwini metro police is investigating a video.
It shows a police officer performing "doughnuts" in an official vehicle.
It appears the officer is doing the dangerous tricks at an intersection.
The point of a 'doughnut' is to spin the tyres of a vehicle while moving it in circles.
Screeching its tyres, the vehicle in the video circles twice and drives away from the intersection.
"The department is aware of the incident and the matter is under internal disciplinary investigation," says metro police spokesperson Sibonelo Mchunu.
East Coast Drive feels whoever this driver is needs to face the full might of the law.
It is unacceptable that the people who are entrusted to enforce the laws and keep us safe in doing so, behave like this.
