This Kia has been parked at the King Shaka International Airport since 2011. But where is the owner?
Have you ever parked your car somewhere but just can’t seem to find it? Now imagine parking your car and never coming back for it!
Well, this is the case for a very lonely Kia Carens which has been parked at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport since 2011 and the owner has never come to collect it.
Times Live recently reported that the car is legally registered to 58-year-old businessman Robin Patrick Knowles, who is also a director of over six companies. The white Kia has four flat tyres, a license disc which expired in 2012, and has been left in quite a bad condition.
Airports Company South Africa’s spokesperson Colin Naidoo has said that they have tried every possible method to locate Robin, but to no avail. The car has been sitting in the parking lot since 2011 and racked up a R140,000 parking ticket.
A business partner has said that he has not seen him in over a decade. Where is Robin Knowles?
Listen below as East Coast Drive chats to ACSA’s spokesperson Colin Naidoo about the lonely Kia and what Knowles will face if he ever returns:
