We all have our own tried and tested home remedies that we stand by. Even if some of them sound bizarre.
Nick Williams, a man who hails from Gloucester in the UK, is a very proud owner of a 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel called Shem, whom he loves very dearly.

One of the main medical issues that Cocker Spaniels have are ear issues which can be very painful. Nick normally squirts a bit of olive oil into Shem’s ears to relieve him of the pain.

However, Nick was horrified when he went to a UK-based pharmacy and was turned down by the pharmacy assistant when he revealed that he wanted the olive oil for Shem.
He was astonished. How could he get turned down for purchasing something as ordinary as medicated olive oil – even if it was for a dog?
The supermarket’s spokesperson said in a statement that “medicinal products sold in our in-store pharmacies are licensed for human use but not veterinary use”.
