Cigarettes or condoms: Which is the 'better' evil?

Picture this scenario in your head - your teenage daughter comes home from school, tired and eager to watch TV instead of doing her homework. 

You argue about this, and she runs to her bedroom to start doing her homework. You call after her to remind her to take her bag along with her, and then something that you didn't expect to see falls out.
