Childish Gambino shakes the internet with new music video
Updated | By East Coast Drive
American actor Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino in the music world, recently released a new song titled, 'This is America', and it got many talking after seeing it.
Childish Gambino premiered his new song on Saturday Night Live, and it's an absolute hit.
'This is America' is riddled with references ranging from US racial segregation laws to 'Sarafina' clad school kids dancing the Gwara-Gwara.

As raw as the video is, the song addresses Gambino's views on gun violence in the country. He also subtly unpacks the struggles currently facing America, and arguably the world right now.
The video soon went on to trend on YouTube and is currently the number two trending video on the platform.
We asked Bongani what he thought, and he said that he agrees with the move by Glover, and how its controversy has come at the perfect time.
The video is too explicit for us to post, but have a look below at a snippet from his Instagram.
Here's how social media reacted to the video:

Shook by how fast I caught this reference. I haven’t seen a Jim Crow picture in years. Donald Glover did not come to play with y’all today. #ThisIsAmerica pic.twitter.com/5Xq4tLSJ7P

The more you watch the #ThisIsAmerica video, the more you realize that there's so much going on in the background and that Donald is just a distraction - and that's the whole point. #StayWoke (don't catch you slippin' now)
