Gangsters from the South Coast of KZN have been in mourning following the death of Sandile Bhengu who was infamously known as 'Chillies'.
According to IOL, he was killed in a shootout with police allegedly after being caught removing a tracker from a stolen vehicle in Umlazi.
East Coast Drive spoke to a few members of the community to find out why these gangsters are idolised.
It makes me really angry that these criminals are protected in their communities and idolised by everyone. There is no place for gang violence and people who refuse to report these guys are pretty much just as guilty when innocent bystanders are killed in the crossfire.- Bongani
A video has been making the rounds on social media showing how gangsters in Umlazi chose to give Sandile the send-off that they thought he deserved.
