The Sharks embarked on a two week tour of Australia at the start of the Super Rugby. They fell short against the Reds in Brisbane but bounced back brilliantly against the Brumbies, with Lukhanyo Am scoring the winning try in extra time.

Beast also scored a try in the game, a rarity for a front row forward, and celebrated in style.

The 31-year-old said he was dared to do “the chicken” by a friend if he scored a try and he delivered on that promise, to the enjoyment of fans and the Australian commentators.

While a try was a nice bonus, Beast was more excited about the Sharks victory, considering that they had to fight back from behind. He also paid tribute to Am, who has had an emphatic rise in form since he joined the Durban outfit.

It’s great to see Beast in good form and the loosehead prop looks set for a fruitful season ahead. Both the Sharks and Springboks will benefit hugely if the big man continues his good form.
