Are white weddings relevant, culturally?

In 2018, is there really relevance for white weddings as a black person? Why do we feel the traditional wedding is not sufficient? Are you getting married soon, do you plan to have both weddings?

Bongani shared his story of when he went through his wedding photos and he realised he actually regrets doing both weddings; the traditional wedding, as well as the white wedding. He regrets this because the white wedding actually adds up costing more than the traditional wedding, and it doesn't serve any other purpose in terms of bringing anything to the table.

We're brought up with the Disney fairy-tale idea of a wedding, and people tend to not recognise you as married if you've just had a traditional wedding.
