If you looked carefully, you may have noticed her with the Hawks formation at the recent presidential inauguration. She has been making headlines, and now we have the opportunity to chat with her.
The team caught up with Major Mandisa Mfeka, a South African woman who made history by becoming the first black woman combat fighter pilot in the country.
Her love for all things aviation started at the age of five, and she has been obsessed ever since.
Mfeka was born in Ntuzuma and grew up right here in Malvern. She is a proud Durbanite and continues to 'fly' our flag high wherever she goes.
Following our piece about women doing jobs that were traditionally done by men, Major Mandisa bared all about how she feels being in a male-dominated career.
