G-Dog has finally popped the question!
Updated | By Gareth Jenkinson
After meticulously planning and waiting for the perfect moment, our very own G-Dog has popped the big question to his now fiancée Nandi. He decided to take a moment to reflect on it all.
I’ve been planning to propose to Nandi since the end of 2016 and started the long and arduous search for a suitable wedding ring for my bride-to-be at the beginning of the year. After a considerable amount of research, and some good networking, I decided to source a diamond and then get a ring designed.
A friend of a friend found me the perfect diamond for Nandi, we decided on an awesome ring design, and the jeweller got to work – and sooner rather than later I had the ring and had to decide how I was going to pop the question.
Luckily The Drive team got some leave at the end of April, so I decided that would be my best chance to ask Nandi to marry me.
We went away to a lodge in the Nambiti game reserve for a couple of days, which provided the perfect setting for me to get down on one knee. During dinner one night, I arranged for champagne to be sent to our tented chalet. When we walked into the tent, the room was beautifully decorated with rose petals, which naturally took Nandi by surprise.
With the stars aligned, I got down and proposed – and luckily she said "yes"! We both sipped champagne, enjoyed the moment, and chatted for hours about how I’d kept all of it a secret for so long.
Now we start planning the wedding – which seems like it will be a lot harder than what I just went through! I couldn't be happier and cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with the woman that I am so madly in love with.
