Coast Radio is excited to announce that East
Coast Drive with Bongani and Mags will take over the airwaves every
afternoon between 3pm and 6pm, from Monday 31 July.
Bongani Mtolo, the current host of East Coast Urban, will co-host the drive show together with Mags.
Approachable and cheeky, Bongani joined the station in 2015 and has proven popular with listeners during this time. He’s also been working closely with the station’s Talent Development Manager, Tumelo Diaho-Monaheng.
East Coast Radio’s Programming Manager Zane Derbyshire says he is thrilled to have Bongani as part of the Drive team, “Having seen him grow and develop as a presenter on the station, now ready to take over one of our flagship shows is testament to the work we put into developing our talent. Bongani is a born entertainer and having him on the drive home with Mags by his side, with G-Dawg and Rory completing the line-up, we are sure that very soon this will be KZN’s favourite way to get home.”
Bongani, a family man and father of two, is ready to tackle the new challenge, “Our show is going to be light-hearted and fun but we’ll keep things exciting and always involve our listeners.”
East Coast Drive with Bongani and Mags will include G-Dawg, as sports presenter and Rory Petzer as producer. Bongani’s warm, yet outspoken co-host Mags is looking forward to working with him, “Such diverse characters are each going to bring a unique outlook on the world of radio and I feel honored to be a part of this team.”
