Despite internet and social media shutdowns in Zimbabwe, East Coast Drive with
Bongani and Mags managed to get some first-hand news from a Zimbabwe resident.

The current chaos in Zimbabwe is alarming, with the country facing a complete shutdown at the moment. There are violent protests, with numerous shot dead by security forces.

Internet and social media platforms have also been suspended, making it impossible for people to communicate the struggles and current ongoings in the country.
This was all sparked by a massive increase in the petrol price. Zimbabweans now are paying the equivalent of R46 per litre.
