A 21-year-old woman was told she would be having twins, but had the shock of her life when in the delivery room she gave birth to a baby growing a head out of its stomach.
On the evening of her caesarean section delivery, the expectant mother experienced abnormal pains, so she admitted herself into hospital, and upon the surgery, doctors discovered what is being called an astonishing medical anomaly.
According to Kiis1065, the baby had an entire head growing out of her stomach, complete with eyes, ears, and even a mouth. Further to this, there was a third hand growing out of this newborn’s chest.
Dr Pravin Mathur, who heads paediatric surgery at the hospital, said:
"This is one of the rarest cases of parasitic twin. The parents told us the mother had undergone sonography and other tests but were not told about carrying an underdeveloped twin. They were shattered when they saw the baby. We had to convince them to give us a nod for the surgery to save their daughter’s life."

The surgery was a success and the baby girl is now recovering and breastfeeding normally, gaining the required nutrients for development.
