Whilst Instagram loses its touch because of the new algorithm, people are flocking to TikTok for the refreshing entertainment the platform provides. It is all simple on TikTok - videos of clothes, places, people dancing, food etc.

Today you will probably find young mothers have TikTok on their phones rather than a WoolWorths app or any other supermarket app.

They can now use the app for entertainment but to also be resourceful in purchasing items for the house or for the children - even for herself. TikTok has shared plans that they will soon be making it possible for users to buy products while using the video-sharing app in a partnership with e-commerce platform, Shopify.

How cool is that?

A statement from the app owned by China-based ByteDance said: "TikTok Shopping will bring new features that help Shopify merchants create engaging, organic content that sends consumers directly to their online store for checkout, making it easy for people to explore and buy the products they discover on TikTok."

Shopify president, Harley Frankenstein, shared that this partnership would help content creators on the platform who are selling products. There are designers, make-up retailers, sneaker heads, thrifters, and so many more people on TikTok who would benefit from this new feature.

"Shopify is powering the creator economy on one of the fastest-growing social and entertainment platforms in the world," he said. "We are excited to help this next generation of entrepreneurs connect with their audiences."
