SA, consider your late-night cravings sorted. Woolies has officially entered the after dark food delivery game, because hunger has no bedtime.

South African night owls, snack fiends, and last-minute grocery warriors – rejoice!

Woolworths has officially entered the late-night game with its After Dark delivery service, rolling out in partnership with Uber Eats and Engen Quickshop.

That’s right, you can now get your Woolies fix delivered straight to your door until midnight.

Whether you’re craving a midnight croissant, need emergency baby formula, or just realised you forgot to pack tomorrow’s school lunch, Woolies has you covered.

No more scavenging through your fridge at 11 pm and convincing yourself a block of cheese is a meal.

According to Evangelos Morris, head of Foodstops at Woolworths, this service ensures late-night customers still get Woolies’ signature quality.

“A key differentiator in our on-demand delivery is our cold chain, and I’m delighted that Woolies After Dark will use the same, innovative technology found in Woolies Dash to ensure our customers enjoy quality,” Morris said.

Cikida Gcali, Uber Eats’ general manager for grocery and retail, added: “Certain parts of the country have had access to Woolworths’ food on Uber Eats during smaller trials, and the demand was exceptional.”

Currently, the service is available at 24 Woolworths Foodstops across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape, with nine more locations set to join by the end of March 2025.

Woolies will be expanding the service to more consumers as soon as the end of March.
