#WengerOut: Arsenal fans have a point!
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
I'm tired of defending Arsene Wenger. He is past his best.
The French mentor, who has been in charge of Arsenal for the past 21 years, must call it a day.
In his first couple of years, Arsenal were unplayable. Within the first 10 years, he had won three league titles and reached the UEFA Champions League final, among other achievements.
Then came a period where the team had to suffer because of the move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium. He had to ensure that the team qualified for the Champions League for five years and draw crowds of nothing short of 55,000 fans for the first couple of years - all to make sure stadium debt was managed.
They slowly had to sell their best players to stay afloat due to their tight budget. That period between 2006 and 2012 was always going to be difficult, but what happened afterwards?
Wenger is too used to being content with a top four finish and with his "groom to sell" policy that he doesn't think about going for glory.
This season looks really bad. He might not even get his famous top four finish and that should be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
The fans are also fed up, which compounds the pressure on the manager.
He has done a lot for the team and he has put them in a position where a new man can have something solid to work with.
But will he go? Will that new man even get a chance to take the team further?
