"It was a long week, but I'm so happy I did it" - Carmen Reddy.

Well, there you have it, after a week of training and stress, Carmen Reddy completed Amashova this past weekend.
If you remember, the entire East Coast Breakfast team took a week to prepare for the event.

When Carmen was challenged to take part in the Amashova Durban Classic cycle race, she knew it would be a tough task, but she was determined to give it her all.
Darren Maule and Sky Tshabalala stepped up to help her learn how to ride a bike, and they were confident that she would be able to master the skill in no time.
In the end, she went on a tandem with Craig Proctor Parker, who is a friend of her instructor Greg.
Greg took it upon himself to teach Carmen during the week, offering advice as well as interesting tips that would go a long way to building her confidence.
Carmen had her journey documented and what it did was show that it's never too late to learn a new skill, and that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

Carmen felt a huge sigh of relief after the race as it was something she had never done before.
"That was really a big moment for me. To cycle 38km in bad weather like that was an experience I'll never forget," says Carmen.
A big thank you goes out to all those involved who helped our co-host to ride the Amashova.
