Water shutdown in Durban
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast, Press Release
The eThekwini Municipality released a statement naming areas in Durban that will be experiencing water shutdowns on 18 and 19 February 2020.
According to the press release, the main aim of the shutdown is to do a tie in of the new 800mm diameter steel mains from Cato Ridge reservoir into the existing 1600mm diameter Aqueduct line.
It continues to state that in order to prepare the site for welding and construction teams on-site, the process of draining the aqueduct will commence at 06h00 on 18 February. This will allow the site teams to commence work at 18h00 on the same day. The duration of the entire shutdown will, therefore, be 36 hours from 06h00 on 18 February until 18h00 on 19 February 2020.
