WATCH: Ostrich chases cyclists in Cape Town
Updated | By Natarah Nadesan
Training for a major sporting event can either be lots of fun or downright terrifying. For two cyclists preparing for the Cape Cycle Tour at the weekend, it was the latter…
An ostrich thought he could get in on the action when he spotted a group of cyclists riding towards the Cape of Good Hope as they prepared for the grueling Cape Cycle Tour at the weekend.
Oleksiy Mishchenko who came to SA with his two friends says they went out for a pre-race ride on Friday and the road seemed quiet and little deserted.
Mishchenko who recorded the drama with his head-cam says, “Suddenly, I spotted a white ostrich on my left, then this beast jumped on the road from the right and started chasing my friends!”
He added, “It was a little scary at first but then I thought I was gonna fall of my bike from laughter.”
The ostrich apparently didn't have any problem to keep up at 50km/h.
