WATCH: Could this be the world's most expensive face mask?
Updated | By Nokuthula Ngcobo
A jeweller in Israel is making a face mask that costs an arm and a leg... maybe even more than that.
If you thought paying anything more than R30 for a face mask was ridiculous, wait until you see how much a Chinese businessman in the United States is willing to pay for his mask.
Of course, we wouldn't expect an 18-karat white gold mask that is decorated with 3,600 white and black diamonds to be cheap, but $1.5-million (R26-million) is A LOT of money we don't have.

Isaac Levy, the owner of the Yvel company responsible for making this erroneously expensive mask, said the buyer had some demands. He requested that it be completed by the end of the year, and that it would be the priciest in the world. He also asked that it be fitted with top-rated N99 filters.

Social media had a lot to say about the exorbitant mask, but for Levy, this opportunity is one he is grateful for because his employees get to keep their jobs during these tough economic times.
"I am happy that this mask gave us enough work for our employees to be able to provide their jobs in very challenging times like these times right now,” he said.
