WATCH: Vegan activism creates 'bloody' scene at KFC
We have seen the worst and most violent of protests, but nothing like this...
Among the many forms of activism, the 21st century has witnessed the most popular to be protests, sit-ins, and demonstrative protests. We completely support the idea that someone believes in something so much that they want to let the entire neighbourhood, town or the world know. But this lady might have just taken hers a bit too far.
As simply described by Healthline, veganism is a lifestyle that attempts to exclude all forms of animal exploitation or cruelty, whether for food, clothing or other varying purposes.

Therefore, a vegan diet has no animal products, including meat, eggs, and dairy.
Reasons for this diet range from ethics to environmental concerns to a plain simple lifestyle/health upgrade.
From the word go, one can see that Instagram user @vganbooty is a vegan. Her Instagram bio reads: "If you're not vegan, you're an animal abuser. End the ANIMAL HOLOCAUST". With followers of up to 17k, there are people who share the same thoughts as the vegan activist.

Unfortunately, in this specific video she shared on both her TikTok and Instagram accounts, her vegan activism was received quite bitterly. Tasha Peterson arrives at a KFC in Australia dressed in white clothing with splashes of red all over her outfit. The sound of a cow can be heard as she makes way to the centre of the fast food restaurant. You will not believe what she did:

It is obviously not her lifestyle choice that people are bashing but the actions in this protest. Most are about the extra work she is creating to already underpaid employees of the restaurant. It is also the grotesque nature of her demonstration - the use of the red paint as blood then spilling it on the floor, playing a cow sound in a fried chicken establishment.
There is truly nothing to learn from this protest if her intention was to convert any consumer in the restaurant.

A more educational approach would be ideal when doing activism for specific lifestyle choices.
A protest of this nature in our local KFC restaurants in South Africa would cause a stir in different communities and social media, of course. Unfortunately, we are closed due to the COVID-19 spread that led us to lockdown level 4. For those in the hospitality industry who are negatively affected by this change in terms of finance, Darren's Tip Jar might alleviate this burden.
Anyway, if we could be more mindful, strategic, and intentional in our activism it would not have to hurt or inconvenience others.
