Was it right for her to compete in the race, knowing full well that she is Russian?

On Sunday, 28 August, the 95th Comrades Marathon took place in KwaZulu-Natal.
The race is an annual event (lockdowns permitting) not just for South Africans but for international athletes too.

This year saw an international athlete win the women's race.
Russia's Alexandra Morozova took home the gold medal.
However, before the tournament even started there was some drama that had unfolded in the High Court in Pietermaritzburg.
According to EWN, Morozova had to head to the Pietermaritzburg High Court to secure her spot to compete. Russian athletes have been banned worldwide from participating in events due to the conflict in the Ukraine.

According to reports, Judge Rob Mossop ruled in her favour and ordered the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) to pay the costs of the application.
The CMA did add that she would not receive any prize money.
