Burmese Pythons are known for their beauty and their ability to scare the socks off people. Well, that is if snakes scare you.

As much as snakes are depicted as scary and ferocious animals, they are not the type of animal you would expect to cook and devour.

Surprisingly, this is precisely what an American man named Bernard Hardison made look completely normal. He shared a video on Instagram of how he smoked and deep-fried a Burmese Python

In the video, a man opens up his smoker to reveal a giant snake, which he says is a 12-foot (3.6m) Burmese Python

He boasts about his cook like a fisherman would about a catch. Hardison says that the snake has been smoked to perfection, and then he seasons it and deep fries it.

Surprisingly, a study by Macquarie University in Australia shared that it would be better for the planet if we ate snakes instead of cows and chickens.

According to BBC News, "Writing in the journal Scientific Reports, the researchers argue that this is because they are easier to farm, use less resources and are more sustainable. Their meat is also healthy as it is high in protein and low in saturated fat."
