The president of the United States has declared a state of emergency in Florida as Hurricane Matthew approaches the state.

According to the Florida Power and Light, more than 94,000 customers were without power Thursday night, reported Weather.com.

All residents have been urged to go to a safe place, but residents refuse to leave their homes.
