Meet Kittammal from Pollachi India. She is an Indian woman who at the mature age of 82, entered a deadlifting competition.
What makes her story even more extraordinary? Not only did she take on a whopping 50kg lift, but she did it all in a sari!

She shares with TimesofIndia: "I am used to regularly lifting 25kg rice bags and fetching at least 25 pots of drinking water. I am very active, and do not feel very old.”

As captured in the video above, with determination etched on her face, Kitammal approached the bar loaded with 50kg, a weight that would make many younger individuals hesitate. With grace and strength, she gripped the bar, her sari elegantly draped around her, and with a mighty effort, she lifted the weight off the ground.
Her efforts paid off in the most spectacular way possible. She conquered the deadlift, shattered stereotypes along the way, and inspired other people to not give up on their fitness journey.
