Ultra Music Festival's exorbitant drinks menu

The exorbitant drinks menu at Ultra Music Festival in Miami had social media and festivalgoers losing their minds. Would you pay this much for drinks?

Get ready to clutch your pearls because Ultra Music Fest in Miami just dropped a drink menu so expensive, it makes that Spotify subscription (which most of us refuse to pay for) feel like a steal.

We all know that festival food and drinks are overpriced. It’s basically part of the experience, right?

Whether you’re waiting for your flight or grooving to beats in a crowd of 100,000 people, you’re pretty much resigned to coughing up a small fortune for a watered-down beer and a soggy sandwich.

But Ultra Miami? Well, it’s in a league of its own.

The festival, held every March in Downtown Miami, is a celebration of electronic music, dazzling lights, and, apparently, financial ruin.

This year, ticket holders are taking the event’s premium bottle service to a whole new level, one that’ll have your bank account screaming “What just happened?”

So, here’s the deal: you fork out $350 (R6,300) for a three-day ticket to the festival, thinking, “Hey, this is gonna be an epic weekend!”

Then you step into the venue and realise that a drink at the bar might cost more than your rent.

Enter the infamous picture of the drinks menu that’s currently spreading like wildfire online.

Let’s talk numbers real quick. If you’re feeling fancy, you can grab six bottles of Dom Pérignon for a mere $7,500 (R137,000). A bargain, right?

Wait – hold on, if you really want to flex, the "F-You Money" package will set you back a jaw-dropping $425,000 (R7.8 million). What do you get for that price, you ask?

Oh, just 200 bottles of Moët Chandon Nectar Impérial Rosé, 100 bottles of Dom Pérignon Brut Luminous, and 100 bottles of Dom Pérignon Rosé Luminous. Because why not?

Unsurprisingly, this menu has gone viral, with people online just… well, losing their minds over it.

Here’s what some Twitter users had to say:

@CarlSoloz: “6 pack of Nutrl for $80???? Bro, 4 of them is $10 at a gas station LMFAO.”

@ExtantBuffalo: “We could end world hunger?” – “Nah, let’s buy some champagne instead.”

@cy_coleman: “The ‘F- you money pack’ should be renamed to ‘Hello FBI & IRS, check me out!’”

@_willcompton: “I just put my daughter in timeout out of anger from reading this.”

@travelwithash85: “Who pays those prices? You’d be better off checking into rehab.”

At the end of the day, you’ve got two options: either buy a small island or get yourself a F-You Money package.

Both choices are equally ridiculous, but only one gets you more champagne.

Ultra Miami: where the music is free-flowing, but your money definitely isn’t.
