South African musician Tyla has become an international sensation. While making waves worldwide, Tyla has made sure to fly the SA flag high and stay true to her roots.

One of the things Tyla has been most vocal about is how she loves and misses South African food and this Mzansi sweetheart has made a point of showcasing our delicacies on global platforms.

Recently, Tyla was featured in British Vogue's 'In The Bag' where the South African singer Tyla revealed the items she carries in her handbag.

The singer emptied her white Givenchy handbag to display its contents, revealing the expected lip gloss, perfume, and sunglasses, alongside some surprising items.

Take a look at the video circulating social media feeds:

As shared in the video above, the 'Water' singer revealed a 2kg bag of maize meal, which she carries with her.

Tyla shares, "So in South Africa, we use this to make pap. Pap is like this (the maize meal), hot water and some salt. It's a workout to make."

In addition to the pap, Tyla revealed that she also carries a bottle of Tabasco with her to add some flavour to some of the "bland" food overseas.

But there is one more South African staple that this singer carries with her - a bedazzled Vaseline with her name on it.
