Tupperware is making a big comeback

Tupperware is making a comeback! Could this be the revival fans have been waiting for?

For generations, Tupperware wasn’t just about keeping leftovers fresh, it was a lifestyle.
From iconic Tupperware parties to those colourful, indestructible containers in every kitchen cupboard, the brand became a South African staple.
So when Tupperware shut down in December 2024, it felt like the end of an era.
No more perfectly sealed lids or matching sets disappearing into the mysterious abyss of the Tupperware drawer.
But hold onto your lunchboxes, because Tupperware is making a comeback!
French entrepreneur Cédric Meston has officially acquired Tupperware France.
Meston is on a mission to relaunch the brand across Europe, starting with France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Poland.
This news comes after the American parent company filed for bankruptcy in 2024, drastically cutting back operations and leaving devoted Tupperware fans in limbo.
Now, Meston is partnering with fellow entrepreneurs and the existing Tupperware management team to breathe new life into the brand.
When will it be back on the shelves?
Meston’s goal is to have Tupperware back in action – and in our cupboards – by April 2025.
That means new products, a fresh marketing strategy, and (fingers crossed) a return to the quality and durability that made Tupperware famous in the first place.
He’s aiming high, too. The plan is to hit €100 million (about R1.98 billion) in revenue by the end of 2025 with the help of 20,000 independent sales representatives.
While negotiations with the American parent company are still ongoing, Meston is confident that everything will be sealed and delivered soon.
"It's a matter of hours or days before we get the green light," Meston stated.
What about South Africa?
For now, Tupperware’s revival is primarily focused on Europe.
However, given our country’s deep love for the brand, Tupperware’s local return is not out of the question.
After all, South Africans take their leftovers (and Tupperware) very seriously.
So if you’ve been rationing your last set of containers, worried you’d never find replacements, you might just get a second chance.
