#TrafficWrap: SANRAL's advice ahead of the long weekend
Updated | By Jayshree Parusaramen
In this instalment of the traffic wrap with Jayshree, she chats with the Head of our national roads agency, SANRAL.
During our long weekend at the end of March and beginning of April, we had reported on a few serious accidents which resulted in KZN having the highest loss of lives on our roads.
On this edition of the #TrafficWrap, I catch up with the head of South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL), Mr Peru Pillay, to get his thoughts on what's happening on our roads.
In addition to getting our roads in tip-top shape, SANRAL is also implementing a program that encourages children to remind adults in the car to buckle up and lower their speed.
One thing that I have noticed over the past few months is the number of fake traffic reports we receive on our hotline. I would like to encourage all motorists to verify their information received via social media before reposting or circulating them. Some reports are also done hours or days after the incident has occurred, and is no longer a concern to motorists. Verify your information first before sharing it, please.
