Snapchat video shows officer repeatedly punching suspect

A Snapchat video of an English police
officer punching a suspect in the head is making headlines around the world.
The South Yorkshire Police officer repeatedly hit the suspect, at least five times.
Another officer can be seen holding him down in a headlock in the three-second clip.
Despite some concerns being raised about the incident, the police department says the officer used reasonable force.
The suspect was allegedly biting the officer in the thigh while he attempted to restrain him, according to a report in the Mirror.
The officer was simply, though, rather violently trying to get the man to stop biting him.
South Yorkshire Police say the incident was investigated by the Professional Standards Department.
The department found that the officer used “reasonable force and there will be no further action”.
A passer-by, who witnessed the incident, told the Mirror: “One police officer was shouting at the arrested man to shut up but he wasn’t saying anything, just being punched.”
Well, to be fair, it is hard to say anything while biting down on a man’s thigh.
“I didn’t think such police brutality was allowed for any reason. I got off a bus and saw this huge scuffle going on with two police officers and the suspect. The suspect was then punched in the head five times. I couldn’t see why and it was really shocking,” the witness added.
What do you think? Is this a case of police brutality or did the officer handle the situation appropriately?
