Serena Williams' post on social media has sparked a huge debate - is a 'Push Present' a legitimate thing, and what's the appropriate gift?

The concept of a 'Push Present' has become quite a trend on social media, but is it really necessary?
According to Wikipedia, "a push present is a gift a partner gives to the mother to mark the occasion of her giving birth to their child. In practice, the present may be given before or after the birth, or even in the delivery room."
If a woman has to go through natural labor and due to complications has to then undergo a c-section as well, two push presents should be given!- Wikipedia
Okay... is it just us, or is that a little absurd?!
