Shocking “devil fruit”: The strange lemon that went viral
Updated | By East Coast Radio
“When life gives you this lemon... run!”
This may just be the most bizarre fruit you will ever come across…
Strange fruit can make you feel some type of way. With the rise of genetically-enhanced food, it’s clear that nature's fruits are getting bigger and better than ever before.
One enormous lemon has blown online users' minds with its one-of-a-kind composition. This lemon has been dubbed a “devil fruit” due to the fact that it hardly resembles the usual unassuming lemon.

While this is triggering to certain users who suffer from “trypophobia" (a fear of certain hole patterns), others have found it “so cool” and “aesthetically pleasing”.

The strangest part is that Maxine Sharf alleges that this lemon has been grown in her garden!
One user offers some insight on this phenomenon: “This is caused by citrus and bud mites. My tree used to do it all the time before the mites moved on. Perfectly safe to eat. What happens is that the mites start eating at the bud when the tree is flowering. The bud is no longer symmetrical and ends us growing into uniquely shaped lemons.”
