Say 'cheese'! Facebook could lock you out unless you upload a selfie

The social media giant is taking extra precautions if it suspects any suspicious activity on your account.
In addition to the many questions that Facebook asks us on a regular basis, the social media platform is now taking security to the next level with their new selfie security feature.

According to Metro, users may be barred from accessing their profiles unless they upload a selfie to the network. It forms part of a new level of security which is being implemented to ensure that it is humans accessing the platform and not bots.

A Twitter user has uploaded a screenshot of the message which was received from Facebook, which prompted an upload of a 'clear' selfie to unlock the account.

In addition to getting rid of spam-spreading bots, the secure 'selfie system' will be a touch-point for the platform to ensure there is no suspicious activity occurring on your accounts.
So be prepared to put on your best face and smile because pretty soon, it may be your face that will be the password to gain access to your very own Facebook profile.
