Listen to the interview and read the details below:
TV personality Siv Ngesi has called upon the country to stand with him for #SAShutdown. His tweet comes after University of Cape Town student Uyinene Mrwetyana was raped and killed at a post office when she went to collect a parcel.
All men/womxn , should down tools for a day and shut this country down! The war against our women and children is at a place that we should all be disgusted!Let’s all take it to the streets and everyone take a stand!Or will you wait until it’s someone you know or care about! pic.twitter.com/KdVg9i7HsP

Shortly after Siv's tweet, Casper Nyovest and Maps Mopanyane tweeted sentiments to families whose loved ones are missing or have been a victim of abuse.
Since then, Twitter trends have been exploding with hastags such as #AmINext, #RIPUyinene, #UyineneMretyana, and #SAShutdown. Twitter users lined up behind the celebs and believe something has to be done.
Siv shed light on what his stance is towards these brutal attacks our women and children face on a daily basis.
What is going on???? Please be on high alert and be safe out there!🚨

Basically I can't be a girl. I can't be black. I can't be South African. I can't be anything. Not even men can be men anymore #SAShutdown https://t.co/62q7Tmk0DJ

Well that's according to the Institute of Race Relations. According to their estimation, 40% of SA women will be raped in their lifetime. That's 12 million women. To give you a picture on how scary these numbers are, Jamaica's population is 2million pic.twitter.com/Q9ZdI2WFCk
