Let's take a look back on the unfortunate incident that transpired in 2014:

A bag containing Frits' iPad, passport, money, cards, and travellers’ checks had been snatched. This left him stranded without resources until he could get a new passport from the South African embassy in Germany.

Luckily, Frits was surprised to find himself treated with kindness by the train staff, who allowed him to travel in first-class despite his lack of funds.

Frits assumed his belongings were gone and even forgot about it until he received a strange call from a woman claiming to have his device.

The initial thought was, "This must be a scam", and he dismissed the calls.

However, the woman who purchased this iPad just a stone's throw away from his neighbourhood continued to reach out to him.

The woman's efforts eventually led to a revelation that this iPad had miraculously made its way back to South Africa and ended up just kilometres away from his home in Bloubergstrand! Surprisingly, the iPad still contained Buter’s name and contact details, allowing the woman to reach out and initiate the reunion.

Frits met up with the new user and was blown away that this outdated device made its way back to him.

It is so lovely that this Good Samaritan reunited this man with his cherished memories.
