Rejoice! WhatsApp users can now hide their 'online' status

Now you won't need to avoid the app if you are avoiding someone in particular!
People can now breathe a huge sigh of relief as WhatsApp has managed to create a way to hide your online status.
This function has gotten people in trouble so many times.

Imagine getting shouted at by your girlfriend for ignoring her messages?! With this new function, this and other problems will be a thing of the past.
The Meta-owned social network announced on their blog that the ability to control online status would be rolled out soon.

It's been well received by many and is considered the best news of the week.
While a lot of people would be happy about this, there are, of course, others who are disappointed that the social media app decided to do this.
Other new features that are set to be brought forward to users include:
- Avatars used while placing video calls.
- Delete function for everyone 2 days, 12 hours.
- The ability to leave groups silently.
- A blur tool for the media editor to blur out images before sending.

With these new features, they will build off existing attempts to offer users more privacy.
WhatsApp also had announced that users would soon be able to hide their profile photos, as well as other information.
