It's not every day that you get to witness something as breathtaking as a real-life mermaid. Cresta Mall Aquarium in Randburg, Gauteng is home to one of these spectacles. 

Nokukhanya is the resident mermaid who found herself in a scary situation after her tail got stuck.

A video of this South African mermaid has been making the rounds. Check out the majestic art of mermaiding gone wrong:

"Every Professional Mermaid has to know how to eject out of their tails in case of an emergency," she wrote in her caption. 

This quick and effective manoeuvre peaked the interest of many online users and their burning questions. The trending mermaid shares: "It's unfortunate that it spoilt the magic in the moment, but it proves to be an important teaching opportunity."
