TAKE NOTE: Amashova road closures for the weekend in Durban

Motorists planning on travelling in and around Durban on Sunday are being asked to avoid several roads as the Amashova Durban Classic is taking place.
The Amashova Durban Cycle Classic is set to take place on Sunday, the 23rd of October.
If you have been taking part in the race since it started, you are racing for the 35th year in 2022.
For all Durban motorists, make sure to take note of these roads and the times they will be affected:
Chief Albert Luthuli Street to Alexandra Road: 04h00 – 09h00
Alexandra Road to Umlaas Road: 04h00 – 10h30
Umlaas Road to R103 Inchanga / 1000 Hills: 04h00 – 12h00
R103 Inchanga to Bothas Hill Butchery: 04h00 – 13h00
R103 Patna Road to Kassier Road / M13 on-ramp: 04h00 – 14h00
M13 Hillcrest to M13 Westville (Westbound): 04h00 – 14h30
M13 Westville to M13 45th Cutting (Westbound): 04h00 – 14h30
N3 outbound to Monty Naicker Street: 04h00 – 15h00
Monty Naicker Street (Pine Street): 04h00 – 15h00
Masabalala Yengwa Ave (Southbound): 04h00 – 16h00

Amashova online entries are closed but late entries will be taken at number collection. Please see the details below:
- Friday 21 October – 09h00 to 18h00
- Saturday 22 October – 09h00 to 16h00
Venue: Suncoast, The Globe
Click the link below to download the late entry form. Please fill in the entry form and bring it along with you to the number collection. Payment can be made via card, zapper, snap scan or cash. Reseeding can be done at number collection with Cycle Events for an additional payment of R50. Change of distance and substitutions can also be done at number collection.
Seeding batches and times: All pre-entries will receive their race number, batches and start times via email and SMS the week before the event.
Costs:
Late entry – R400
Corporate entry – R500
Charity entry – R400 + R500 (to charity)
Day license – R50
Please note the age restriction for the 38km is 10 years old
Seeding
Cyclists are batched according to the batch they select when entering online. There are 5 options to choose from: School, Family, Tandem, eBike and Open. The 38km ride is NOT timed, please do not wear a timing chip.
Temporary Licenses
All cyclists wanting to participate in road cycling events longer than 20km have to have a license, this is in accordance with the Cycling South Africa rules. A day / temporary license costs R50 and will be added to your online entry.
Merchandise
Event merchandise is available to purchase with your online entry. There will also be a merchandise shop at the number collection and exhibition at the Globe, Suncoast.
Approach to 38km start
You can access the start from Durban from the N3 Highway. Take the Shongweni off-ramp.
There will be a Drop and Go at Shongweni Club between 04h30am and 06h00am. Please do not leave your vehicle here, please ask your driver to drop you and leave.
