Pitso must learn to follow the rules

Fans witnessed ugly scenes at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium ahead of the MTN8 quarterfinal clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United and Pitso Mosimane was the cause.

Both sets of players warmed up on the same half of the pitch and both technical teams  to occupy the same bench.

The Premier Soccer League compliance manual clearly states that the home team has the right to choose the dressing room, warm up space and bench.

Now, the bench and training space is determined by the dressing room you choose. In this case, Mosimane had chosen a dressing room on one side of the pitch and the bench that's on the other side, which is against the rules.

What confuses Mosimane is that other teams have always been fine with it. In this case, Supersport United wanted to stick to the procedure and Sundowns should have complied.

I was flabbergasted when Mosimane complained about the whole thing after the game because what Supersport did was within the rules.

Mosimane is no stranger to controversy, two years ago he complained about Orlando Pirates having detected that one of his players was not registered. He claimed conspiracy while Pirates only followed the rules.

He has been fined countless times for his post-match interviews which often seek to bring the PSL into disrepute.

Lately, he's been slammed by the Bafana Bafana coach for speaking to him through the media. Mosimane was asking Shakes Mashaba not to include his players in the national team because Sundowns has a tight schedule.
