PICS: Keri Miller's garden before and after!
Darren and Sky did not believe me when I said that I've taken up gardening. Not to blow my own horn, but I am pretty good at it!
So let me give you the back story. I live close to the beach and the soil is basically beach sand. I know that spring is planting season and I wanted to support a local small business, so I went on Facebook to ask for suggestions.
You won't believe who most people suggested, MDMB landscaping - which happens to be Monique, who I am birthday twins with ... same year even, and we went to school together. Sadly, we lost touch 21 years ago, so this was a wonderful reunion!

After coming over to my place to check out the garden, the soil, and the amount of shade, we needed to choose plants that the monkeys and mongoose wouldn't destroy.
A few days later, we were ready to start. It felt like one of those episodes of a home improvement show. Between Monique, Wilson, Sibusiso, and Armstrong, they were like garden fairies who work like a well-oiled machine. Also, the cool thing is that this isn't a company who come and just do everything and leave, Monique was talking me through the whole process, explaining how certain plants work, how to 'propagate', how and when to water. She also let me help, a lot. I LOVED IT SO MUCH.

These pics are the beginning stages of our new garden. In a few months it will be even more lush and covering more of the ground.
