PICS: Carpet python takes down a possum
The food looks to have been a little too big for the determined reptile.
If there's one thing we've learnt from our resident snake rescuer, Nick Evans, pythons are huge snakes and can devour animals other snakes can't.
However, this carpet snakes seems to have been a little too presumptuous when it went for a possum.

Pictures of a python; hanging from the roof and holding onto a possum; were shared on Facebook by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7. According to the post, although the python tried it's best to devour the mammal, it looked to have been having a hard time because its prey was too big.
