PICS: 119 tarantulas found inside shoes

It turns out that the tarantulas were being smuggled.
Customs officials in the Philippines seized over a hundred tarantulas at an airport in the country.
According to a post from the official Facebook page of the Philippines Bureau of Customs, the spiders were discovered inside a parcel that had been marked as “buty” - a Polish word for shoes.

The parcel, which was shipped from Poland, was intercepted after authorities scanned it and found suspicious images.
According to the post, the tarantulas were turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Wildlife Traffic Monitoring Unit for handling and disposal.
